Is Lil Uzi Vert Done or Nah?
Yesterday, former XXL Freshman rapper and well known artist, Lil Uzi Vert, has taken to Instagram to announce that he is officially done with music. On his instagram story, Lil Uzi posted
“I WANNA TAKE THE TIME OUT TO SAY I THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF MY SUPPORTS BUT I’M DONE WITH MUSIC I DELETED EVERYTHING I WANNA BE NORMAL…I WANNA WAKE UP IN 2013,”
He also reaches out to his fans thanking them for all of their support and everyone who helped him; but explains that he just wants to be normal and is retiring from music. This melancholy vibe isn't new to Uzi, its been clear that the rapper has been in stress since his record label, Atlantic Records, have been holding his album "Eternal Atake" for quite some time now.
It's nothing new as several rappers have threatened retirement in the past, Lupe Fiasco was supposed to be done after 3 albums yet he's still here,
In 2003, Jay Z announced he was retiring after the release of The Black Album – but three years later, he was back with Kingdom Come, admitting he’d had the worst retirement of all time. And in 2013, the Biebs said he was quitting music – before returning in 2015 with Sorry.
Whether Lil Uzi is serious about him moving on from music or not, we hope he finds peace. One thing that is guaranteed however, is that his music will not be forgotten.
